As expected, the House of Representatives yesterday followed the Senate in agreeing to extend the 2002 farm bill to April 18, 2008, giving conference committee legislators more time to agree terms of the 2007 farm bill.
Funding levels for such programs as crop loan rates and target prices have been a sticking point between legislators and the Bush administration.
On Friday, Congress begins its two-week Easter recess, returning March 31. |
